Regional foundation practices vary considerably across China. In Zhejiang Province the use of combi-wall for temporary retaining walls is widely accepted, while in neighboring Shanghai this method is not used much. Combi walls have some obvious advantages: they are quick to install, and the material can be reused. By popular request we organized a visit for our WeChat followers to Hangzhou to see this type of retaining wall.
