This video was shot at a pilot study in Germany. The soil conditions are identical to those found in the North Sea. The pilot project’s objective is to demonstrate that the lateral load capacity of vibrated and hammered piles in sand is proven to be equivalent. Furthermore, it aimed to indicate that full depth vibro-driving of monopiles (in comparison to hammered piles) has lower noise levels, causes lower fatigue and stress to the monopiles, is faster, and more cost effective. Note the amazing driving speed of the 500M! Six 21 meters long monopiles with a 4.3 meters diameter, weighing in at 93t each, driven within 3 minutes.
