We all know what it’s like to have to deal with a lock down to avoid spreading the corona pandemic. Now that Europe has to deal with the virus crisis, you may be wondering what the effect will be on ICE services to you, now that projects start up again in China?

In The Netherlands the approach is to keep social distance and to work from home where possible. For our factory workers, service team, and spare parts and logistics teams working from home is not possible. Fortunately, our factory is spacious, and with strict hygiene protocols in place our colleagues can work within their own space at a safe distance from each other.

China is ahead on the Covid19 pandemic recovery curve, it is important for our hundreds of users in China to know that we can support you with service and spare parts. Our team has been back to work for over 6 weeks now and is making service and sales visits.

We now see the optimism of our industry reflected in an uptick in our sales across all our activities in China (offshore wind foundations, highway construction, and real estate developments). After being cooped up inside for 2 months, our clients are eager to get out again and build something. Investing in branded, reliable construction equipment is a great expression of this spirit! The orders we have received in March have even allowed us to exceed our original Q1 target.

We still have machines available from stock in Shanghai and are also shipping more equipment to China over the next few weeks so that we can help our clients take advantage of the central governments promised infrastructure investments in response to COVID19, so we expect that we, together with our clients, will also benefit from this in the third and fourth quarter.
