The 500MU has driven what must be one of the biggest piles ever by a single hammer. The project, that included the installation of a pile template and two anchor piles was completed within 2 weeks.
Two large casings with an outer diameter of 3000mm, 70mm wall thickness, a length of 56 meters, weighing 350T each were positioned and installed at it’s target depth of 33m using Dieseko’s biggest vibro hammer, the 500MU. The casings function as anchor piles for the “FAKHR AL-QANAH” floating dock in Egypt’s Suez Canal. This floating dock will add new capabilities for repairing and maintaining large ships and marine units crossing the Suez Canal. The immense new floating dock measures 260 meters in length and 62m in width. Vessels can drive into the dock, which will then be floated above the waterline for easy access to the hull.
Pin piles for positioning the subsea template that held the casings were installed and extracted with an additional PVE 200M Vibratory Hammer. This impressive achievement came about because of our skilled operator team, in combination with proper project planning and reliable piling hammers.
